So many names.

Outside of my commission work I am painting many little critters, each with their own personality. So instead of just having a “cat” painting, I decide to give each one of my characters a name. Like each painting is unique I wanted to make sure that each name was as well. As I painted more, that became so many names, not only to come up with, but to remember.

So in my travels, I went to the local used book store and picked up a book of 15,000 baby names. Feminine, masculine and all different cultures, some I had never even heard before. I thought this is perfect! I will name each of my characters from a name in this book, and as I do, I cross out the name. My goal is to have them all crossed off one day…that’s a lot of names and a lot of paintings.
